Dates Medjoul from Jericho

Medjoul dates, the Rolls Royce of dates, are large, soft and juicy and are considered the finest in the world. They are eaten by everyone and loved for their high nutritional value, low fat content and natural minerals. Not least, they are traditionally eaten by Muslims in connection with Iftar, the meal that breaks the fast during Ramadan. In Al Reef's factory in Jericho, the dates are quality assured and packaged.

For a Medjoul palm to generate good fruit, a lot of work is required. The trees only bear fruit from the age of eight and the pollination, one of the most critical aspects of cultivation, is handled manually or semi-manually. The demanding work of pollination is then repeated several times for each tree and can only be done under specific weather and temperature conditions. Each tree requires its own treatment, both in terms of pruning and pollination, and everything must be done with tact.
